Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating a creative combination of art and cuisine at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Running now through February 21, this festival highlights the talents of artists from all walks of life. Let's paint a picture of what you can expect on your visit.
With F-I-G-M-E-N-T, you can see things differently! Everyone's favorite imaginary purple dragon is running wild through EPCOT as the festival's mascot. You'll see him pop up around the park to add quirky fun to your day. He also fits in perfectly with overall theme of the festival; creativity. The visual arts presented around the park are incredible. It is truly amazing to witness the exceptional artistic talent on display.
Artistry extends to the food options at EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Dishes are served with beautiful and unique presentations worthy of a picture. Here are a couple options that we tried:
Arancini at L'Arte Di Mangiare - Fried risotto balls stuffed with braised beef and served with Pomodoro Sauce
Red Wine Braised Beef Short Rib at Pastoral Palate - Served with parsnip puree, broccolini, baby tomatoes, and aged balsamic.
Italian Red Sangria with Cabernet Sauvignon at L'Arte Di Mangiare
We found these to be both tasty and visually appealing, but there are still so many more possibilities available at the festival. Be sure to pick up your festival passport at either park entrance to help guide you through your culinary journey.
Guests can also join in on the artsy fun happening at EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! Figment’s Brush with the Masters is a scavenger hunt around world showcase to find Figment hidden inside famous works of art at each pavilion. It costs $9.99 plus tax, and includes an artful surprise for those who finish the challenge. At the American Gardens Theatre, the Animation Academy will bring along an animation artist to teach guests how to draw a Disney character. With many other interactive entertainment options, the family is sure to have a great time. Keep in mind that weekend crowds are usually much larger at the festival. It may be best to schedule around it if possible.
