Tucked away in Magic Kingdom's Adventureland is a dining location surrounded by mystique. The Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is a place that many people wonder about until they wander inside. We're here to give you a better idea before you enter that culinary jungle.
We found The Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen to be a mixed bag of results. First we'll start with the positives. Your meal here is an absolute experience. You can expect to be immersed in the Jungle Cruise story from the moment you arrive. Your skipper will navigate you through the place with the same courage and wit needed to brave the Nile River. You will be set to dine in one of three eccentric rooms: the crew's colonial-era Mess Hall, the Jungle Room, or the top secret S.E.A. Room. The theming and atmosphere around is fantastic and will make you forget that you are in the middle of Florida.
Now let's move on to the food. The menu is full of unique entrées with punny names, such as the "Tastes Like Chicken Because it is!" and the "Hardy Har Char Siu Pork". Unfortunately that is where the compliments end for the meal itself. We had an assortment of menu items including the Dr. Falls Signature Grilled Steak, Perkins Thai Noodles, Falls Family Falafel, and Junior Skip's Macaroni and Cheese. For our taste, the food here is just "okay" and not enough to keep us coming back for more. Don't just take our word for it though; you may find it to be the best thing since the backside of water.
Theming and atmosphere is the selling point for Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen. If you are a fan of the Jungle Cruise attraction or a pun-filled good time, we recommend giving it a try for yourself.
