Have a fear of missing out on all things Walt Disney World Resort™? Trust us, we understand. You want to be there when something is actually HAPPENING. Maybe a festival, maybe some holiday magic (maybe both). So you're thinking August and September probably aren't the best times to go, right? Not so fast! Here are 5 reasons you should book your trip to WDW this August or September.

1. Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
Food and Wine Festival kicks off July 15th and runs through November 20th this year. That means you'll be able to indulge your way around the world during your August/September trip! Featuring over 20 food booths with 7 new additions and live music to boot, this year's festival is sure to be a culinary cabaret. If you have a little one in your party be sure to engage them in Remy's Ratatouille Hide and Squeak Scavenger Hunt to win a special prize!
2. Introducing the BOO BASH (a Disney After Hours Event)
Halloween comes early in Orlando, which is spooky music to our Mickey and Minnie ears. With it comes a BRAND NEW Halloween party: The Boo Bash. Beginning August 10th, this is an after hours event at Magic Kingdom featuring special Halloween cavalcade parades and all of your favorite villainous Disney characters. It’s three hours of late-night fun while being immersed in the decorative spirit of the season. This is a separately ticketed and exclusive event so contact your TTC travel advisor for tickets and info. We suggest doing this now because tickets are moving faster than a Happy Haunt when the lights turn on.
3. Holiday Treats
This list would not be complete without mentioning Disney's unforgettable sweets! The Halloween season brings along the new line of fall snacks at all WDW parks! While this year's list has not been shared with us yet, you can bet some of our favorites will be returning along with new seasonal offerings. You can also score yourself a specialty refillable popcorn bucket to be used during your trip. These make a great souvenir to bring home. We can't wait for a taste of fall, and you can experience it starting in...you guessed it, August. Oh and have those phones ready because these treats are Instagram-able!
4. A New Era
Disney will be unveiling two new nighttime spectaculars on October 1st: "Harmonious" at EPCOT and "Disney Enchantment" at Magic Kingdom. These are sure to impress, but they also signal the end of an era at the respective parks. "EPCOT Forever" has been running for the last two years and "Happily Ever After" has been running at Magic Kingdom for over five years. These amazing displays will end on September 30th, so catch them while you still can!
5. Elbow Room
Shuffling through thick crowds and waiting in long lines never sounds fun, even at the most magical place on Earth. So why not avoid the issue and book your trip during one of Disney's least crowded times of year? That's right, August and September kick off the beginning of the school year. That means less people in the parks and shorter wait times in line for your favorite attraction. Take advantage of the low crowds and experience more with your time!
So let's recap: festivals, holidays, treats, fireworks and smaller crowds all in one trip? Sign us up! If you are interested in booking your magical stay in August or September, contact a TTC travel advisor today for a free no-obligation quote!
