Tusker House Lunch Review

At Walt Disney World, EPCOT is widely viewed as the go-to park for great food; and for good reason. You can find amazing dishes from around the globe on your visit. However, many people are unaware of the delicious and unique options being served up at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. One location deserving of more attention is Tusker House Restaurant.

Say Jambo! Tusker House can be found in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom near the entrance to Kilimanjaro Safaris. The restaurant has a very authentic look through incredible African theming. Mickey Mouse and company are also there in their safari outfits. While there is still no touching allowed, characters come about six feet away from your table and have great interactions with the entire family. After the meal, they give out pre-signed printed cards to take along with you on your next adventure! We cannot say enough about the positive energy that these performers bring to the experience.

Since re-opening the location, Tusker House Restaurant has made a big change to reduce close contact between guests. While meals used to be served buffet style, they are now served family style. This just means that your server will bring your food to the table instead of going get it yourself. The quality remains and you are still invited to eat all that you wish!

Tusker House operates on a fixed price of $55 per adult and $36 per child for lunch and dinner (breakfast prices differ). Factored into these prices are starters, entrées, sides, dessert, and non-specialty drinks. Offerings for each course include:

  • Starters: Assorted House-made Breads and African Inspired Salads

  • Entrées: Moroccan-spiced Beef, Spit-roasted Herb Chicken, Cape Malay Green Curry Shrimp, and Berber-marinated Pork

  • Sides: Green Beans with Carrots and Corn, Jasmine Rice, Roasted Potatoes, and House-made Macaroni and Cheese

  • Desserts: Animal-inspired mini desserts and Chocolate Mousse

Tusker House also offers allergy-friendly versions for each of these options to accommodate those who need it. We found that the dishes were bursting with great flavor. This is a perfect place for adventurous eaters who find the menu items appetizing. However, it may not be for everyone. If your group has picky eaters, you'll want to take a close look at the menu with them before booking a reservation.

Overall, Tusker House Restaurant is a great spot to find flavorful food and a fantastic character experience inside of a Walt Disney World theme park. It can be a wonderful addition to your day. Contact a TTC travel advisor for more information and a free no-obligation quote.
